After working in several different hands on industries in his teens, J.A.G. Construction Ltd's managing director, Jonathan Gaugain, set out to work hard in the construction industry. Viewing masonry as an honest, respected trade, Jonathan entered the field innitially as a labourer. Willing to work long hours and perform any task, he quickly learned masonry and progressed to the position of a full-time mason.

From there, Jonathan expanded his skill set to include decorative masonry detail work, stone work and tiling installation. After a period of time as a full mason, he was promoted to small job operations and eventually to the position of site foreman. The next step was in a position as supervisor for a large company, overseeing the construction of a new road, infrastructure and 26 houses. As the site supervisor, he was responsible for the daily allocation of work for 40 workers , a full outfit of machinery and oversaw the general management of the construction of multiple structures simultaneously.

 The next logical step was the formation of J.A.G. Construction Ltd. in 2006.
